March Living the Mission Award

DakotAbilities' Living the Mission Award is given each month to an employee who demonstrates above and beyond dedication, care, and compassion to the people we support. Nominated by their peers, our goal is to recognize and celebrate our employees who live by our core values.

Congratulations to our March "Living the Mission" nominees and winner, Maureen Cahoy. Here is what her nominator had to say:

"I am proud to nominate Maureen Cahoy for this prestigious award due to her outstanding dedication and exemplary service in her years at Dakotabilities. Over the course of her career, Maureen has consistently demonstrated exceptional clinical skills, compassionate care, and a commitment to patient advocacy. Maureen goes above and beyond daily to ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care. She builds strong relationships with persons supported, taking the time to listen to their concerns and provide support during challenging times. This compassionate approach not only aids in the healing process but also fosters trust and comfort in an often stressful environment. In addition to her direct patient care, Maureen actively contributes to the improvement of nursing practices within our facility. She has taken the initiative to enhance patient safety and improve outcomes. Maureen is also a mentor to new staff, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration. She embodies the values of our profession and serves as an inspiring role model for colleagues and patients alike. For these reasons and many more, I wholeheartedly support the nomination of Maureen for this award. Her unwavering dedication to nursing and the well-being of others truly exemplifies what it means to be a nurse."
