Your Gift. Your Choice.
By supporting DakotAbilities with a gift to the annual fund for the Meaningful Day program, the Accessibility Fund for capital expenses and improvements, or the Endowment Fund, you are making an immediate and tangible difference in the lives of adults with disabilities. One hundred percent of your donation goes toward your intended purpose. Donation dollars are not used to cover operating expenses or salaries.
Make an Impact Today
Gifts of all sizes make a difference, each one creating a warm and welcoming community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Whether you choose to make a one-time donation, become a monthly "Behind the Cape" donor, or support us through an annual gift, your generosity helps people live their lives full of opportunity and meaning.
Planned Giving and Tax-Smart Ways to Give
There are many ways to support DakotAbilities while also achieving your personal, financial, and charitable goals. Thoughtful gift planning ensures that adults with disabilities will have access to safe, accessible, affordable housing and meaningful opportunities throughout their entire lives.
- Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) directly from your IRA to DakotAbilities can help reduce your taxable income while supporting a cause you care about. Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from traditional IRAs begin at age 73. A QCD can be used to satisfy all or part of your RMD. Please consult your financial advisor or tax professional for current IRS guidelines for RMDs and QCDs.
- Including DakotAbilities in your will is a simple way to create a lasting impact. A charitable bequest allows you to designate a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after other obligations have been met.
- Add DakotAbilities as a beneficiary to a retirement account, life insurance policy, bank or investment account, or donor-advised funds (DAFs). Beneficiary designations can often be updated without changing your will and may provide tax benefits to you and your heirs.
Create your Legacy. By including DakotAbilities in your estate plans, you help ensure the future health, safety, and well-being of generations of people with disabilities. We encourage you to consult your financial advisor, attorney, or tax professional when considering a planned gift.
