Today is the day! Oh sure, it's the first day of autumn, but as promised, it is also the day you choose the winning haiku! (Can you hear the cheering?) So, without further adieu, enjoy one haiku by Kurtis Cash and two by Joe Dvorak!
The week dedicated to our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) was filled with activities. First there was a breakfast on Monday morning then a visit from Mayor TenHaken. Each day had a costume themed contest. The annual ping-pong tournament was tense and highly competitive. The week ended with lunch off two food trucks followed by announcing the DSP of the Year, Odessa Wilkerson. Odessa has been with DakotAbilities working in residential for 24 years. Congratulations to her and all of the nominees.
The participation from family members was priceless. Many took time to send notes of support for their favorite staff &/or home.
We truly provide the best care for our individuals by 'working together'. The family comments mean the world to our DSPs.
Odessa Wilkerson, DakotAbilities' DSP of the Year!
