Let's Call It ABILITIES Awareness Month!
This month (and every month for that matter) we are highlighting for you the amazing abilities of the people we serve. Even the most mundane tasks to most of us can be overwhelming to one with disabilities.
Together, we explore the inspirations and rewards of various artistic outlets to awaken creativity, encourage self-worth and confidence, and help apply those traits to every day activities for optimal independence.
Art Takes A Spin
Artist, Edward Eich, used his special spin machine to help our own artists create stunning images. They will be on display at his studio, Van Art Studio on April 1 from 5pm to 7pm. All donations that evening will go to DakotAbilities.
Art Takes A Bow
Rehearsals are underway for our 13th theatrical production, The Trial of Goldilocks. Goldilocks is on trial for breaking and entering. Was she a spoiled brat who wanted her own way or was she set up by the bears? The only way to find out is to attend the play! It will be Friday, March 25th at 1pm at Longfellow Center. There is no charge but be prepared to be amazed at the talent our actors have. Oh, and be prepared to laugh! The production is again in partnership with the Black Hills Playhouse.
Art Takes On Competition
Next week will be our art competition to see whose artwork will represent DakotAbilities for the 2022 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
You will be the first to know the winner!
Thank you for engaging with us in Developmental Disabilities Month!
